Empirical Path Loss(GSM)

Empirical Path Loss(GSM)

  • Okumura –Hata Model
  • A (dB) = 69.55 + 26.16 Log (F) – 13.82 Log (H) + (44.9 – 6.55 Log (H)) Log (D) -C

Where :

;A = Path Loss in dB

;F = Frequency in MHz (between 150 and 1500 MHz)

;D = Distance between base station and terminal in km (between 1 and 20 km)

;H = Effective height of base station antenna in m (between 30 and 300 m)

;C = Environment correction factor

= 0 dB for dense urban environment (buildings greater than 7 floors, medium and small streets)

= 3 dB for medium urban environment (medium buildings of 5 floors, medium and small streets)

= 6 dB for medium urban environment and wide streets

= 10 dB suburban environments with small buildings

= 20 dB for mixed rural and villages

= 26 dB for open areas
